For all the fans of Gerald Durrell’s masterpiece “My Family and Other Animals,” we invite you to join us on an exclusive journey along “The Durrells’ Pathway.” This tour is carefully crafted by us, Spiros Amerikanos’ grandchildren, guiding you through the captivating locations that inspired the Durrell family during their stay on the island.

Our tour commences by exploring the charming northeast side of Corfu, where we’ll visit all the remarkable places that captured the family’s imagination. Our first stop is the White House in Kalami for a coffee break, where Lawrence Durrell and his wife Nancy resided for three years, and where he wrote some of his most significant works.

Our next destination is Vlacherna and the Mouse Island, situated in the Kanoni area, alongside the Chalikiopoulos family lake. We’ll spend some time here, admiring Corfu’s trademark and taking in the stunning scenery.

In the same area of Kanoni, we’ll visit the house where Spiros Amerikanos lived, which is now the location of our family’s travel agency. Here, we’ll take a brief look at some original photos from the 1930s, providing a unique glimpse into the Durrell family’s life on Corfu.

To end our excursion in style, we’ll head to the iconic traditional taverna “Tripa,” in the picturesque village of Kinopiastes, where Gerald Durrell and our grandfather, Michael Chalikiopoulos, spent many evenings during the 1960s. Here, we’ll experience a true Greek night with a full dinner and traditional music.

The tour’s duration is 6 hours, starts at 16:00 from the assembly point and finishes by 23:00, running every Thursday. It includes transportation with a mini bus, coffee break and full dinner at Taverna Tripa. The minimum participation for the excursion to take place is 5 guests.
